Position Summary

The Project Engineering position focuses on designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing an engineering-based project. As a Project Engineer, you will act as key liaison between Engineering, Sales, Division Quality, Procurement, Project Management Office (PMO) and the Manufacturing plant for new product launches.

This position must be able to work independently with general supervision and may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects or processes of diverse scope, while working independently with limited supervision

  • Track status and revisions of incoming components, tooling, finished goods and equipment that are required for program manufacturing development from prototype builds through production launch

  • Coordinate the timely completion and reporting of manufacturing stage gate requirement across multiple programsCoordinate activities required for plant sponsored development builds from prototype level through pilot level buildsDevelop strategy that defines future state plant capacity and manufacturing capabilities required to accommodate business growth

  • Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field

  • 2+ years of project management experience, preferably in manufacturing environment

  • Strong documentation, planning and presentation skills

  • Basic understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, capital amortization and depreciation

  • Proficient with MS Project

  • PMP certification highly desired
