Position Summary
Firestone Industrial Products
The Firestone Industrial Products plant in Williamsburg, Kentucky is the company’s only U.S. air spring manufacturing plant. In 2018, Williamsburg achieved a tremendous safety milestone of 4 million hours worked without incident.
The Process Engineering position focuses on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised processes. An Experienced Professional position applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. This position must be able to work independently with general supervision and may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex.
This position requires the candidate to work onsite in Williamsburg, KY.
Responsibilities
In this Process Engineer role you will:
Work on process problems of moderate scope and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher level professionals
Design equipment and processes to ensure most efficient and productive operations.
Plan sequence of operations and specifies procedures for preparing materials and operating equipment
Determine process design by balancing process cost, yield, and material waste considerations.
Conduct tests throughout all stages of processing to determine control over applicable variables and prevents/solves process problems
Support continuous improvement/automation activities
Preferred Qualifications:
Required: Engineering Degree + 2 years of related experience in the field
Ability to interpret process data and make recommendations for improvements.
Experience with presenting technical content to a cross functional audience
Familiarity with root cause analysis
Knowledge of PFMEA and Control Plans
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
Inventor / CAD or other 3D software experience
Efficient with Excel and Power Point
Ability to read and understand drawings

Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
