Position Summary

$7,500 Sign on bonus

Here at the Aiken Off Road Radial Tire Plant we produce large and ultra large off-the-road radial tires for mining and aggregate customers. These are the biggest tires in world. This new plant produced its first tire in 2013 and utilizes state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and techniques to produce these giant tires.

Service Technicians must be extremely flexible to support a wide range of maintenance activities. Our Service Technicians are assigned to a specific production department and become subject matter experts in their department, but they also support all areas of the plant when the need arises. Therefore, cross training is imperative - broadening the skill set of our Service Technicians. Our Service Technicians are multi-skilled and perform mechanical, electrical and PLC repair and troubleshooting and predictive maintenance activities. This facility operates 24/7 and Service Technicians work either day shift or rotating shift schedules.

Work Schedules:

Day Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM until 3:00 PM

Rotating Shift: Modified DuPont Schedule - 4-week repeating rotation that includes blocks of 3 and 4 days of Day Shift, 3 and 4 nights of Night Shift and 7 consecutive days off per month. This schedule results in employees only working 14 days per month. Day Shift is 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM and Night Shift is 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Compensation:

$7,500 sign-on bonus Service Technicians start off at a base pay rate of $33/hour and can progress up to $40/hour. There is an hourly bonus program called Results Sharing which is paid out semi-monthly. Results Sharing averaged 13.55% in 2023, this added an additional $5.42/hour for Service Technicians at the top pay rate.

Responsibilities

• Be safe – comply with all safety regulations.

• Partner with our embedded Engineering Team to install, test, and release equipment.

• Record all work activities in our proprietary CMMS, BAMM.

• Maintain equipment for industrial production, industrial processing, pipeline distribution systems, and conveyors.

• Possess the ability to maintain various types of PLCs.

• Be capable of understanding and working with networking and communications systems: Ethernet / IP, ControlNet, and DeviceNet.

• Have strong understanding of AC Drives, Motors, Encoder and Resolver troubleshooting.

• Be knowledgeable of calibration of flow, level, pressure, and temperature devices and control loops.

• Have familiarity with bearings, conveying systems, gearboxes, equipment rebuilds, and repairs.

• Be knowledgeable of automation, ladder logic, process controls within manufacturing and processing systems.

• Possess a strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and rotating equipment.

• Have a clear understanding of reading blueprints, schematics, manuals, technical drawings, work orders, test results, and machine error messages.

• Be capable of performing Root Cause Failure Analysis and inspect parts for damage and wear.

• Be capable of safely testing and observing running machinery for problems.

• Be able to safely operate cranes, hoists, lifts, grinders, hand tools, power tools welding equipment, testing equipment, etc.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires a high school degree; or 1-2 year vocational training / associates degree
