Position Summary

We’re currently looking for a Senior Finance Manager – Merchandising to join our team in Bridgestone Retail Operations. This position is expected to be a strategic business partner with our teams by driving thought leadership in merchandise financial metrics, identifying efficiencies, and providing clear sales and margin tracking and reconciliations. Additionally, this position oversees the financial budgeting and forecasting for merchandise sales and margin. Lastly, this position must understand business trends, foresee financial opportunities and risks, and effectively influence business strategy. Therefore, candidates will need strong communication and leadership skills with a capability to gain a keen understanding of the merchandise business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Merchants to develop annual budget and quarterly sales and margin forecasts.

  • Assist with specific merchandise projects by building a business case, thoroughly vetting the necessary components for success, and supporting the project through completion.

  • Analyze financial and business information to identify underlying business drivers and trends to deliver improved sales and profitability.

  • Support the development of financial models, analytical and reporting tools, and ad hoc analysis/special projects.

  • Create compelling stories and visuals to ensure complex subjects are easily understood.

  • Transform the team into leveraging and adopting new technologies, processes, and ideation approaches.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with emphasis in finance, accounting, or economics

  • MBA preferred.

  • 7+ years of relevant experience including 3+ years management or leadership experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships, communicate, and present to all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work under ambiguity and independently prioritize assignments and projects with a high sense of urgency.

  • Continuous improvement mindset – ability to document, analyze, make recommendations, and improve existing processes.
