Position Summary

An internal teammate has been identified as a preferred candidate for this role. While all applications will be reviewed, the hiring manager may choose not to hold interviews and select the preferred candidate. In this case, all internal applicants will be notified of the decision.

This position will lead capital portfolio execution and engineering functional excellence via leadership of a mechanical engineering team. The manager will direct a team of 5-7 mechanical engineers for the ASRS, Curing and Final area. In this role, the manager will support the Senior Manager to plan, develop and execute department goals and projects. The manager will provide technical and mentoring guidance for their responsible mechanical reports. Travel to support the team and projects is expected to be between 25 to 50% both domestic and international.

  • Plan and advise on annual department budgets and manage yearly expense to the finalized budget.

  • Manage expenses to maintain yearly budgets.

  • Support reporting teammates to successfully meet project deliverables OTOS, Establishing & Achieving the scope, schedule & budget, as well as quality and safety objectives.

  • Contributes to the planning and development of engineering strategy and provides technical leadership for the area of the organization to which they are assigned.

  • Prepares or directs monthly BAMG updates for applicable projects.

  • Oversees continuous improvement, automation, and implementation of best practice activities.

  • Supports relationships through effective communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Influences, coaches, and develops direct reports/teams.

  • Manage teammate workloads to achieve resource balancing across the department given project demand.

  • Generate performance reviews and provide quarterly input on the performance of teammates for discipline in functional area.

  • Coordinates activities with other units including Safety, NA/LA Plants, PED, CIM, Procurement, Finance, LSCM, and Quality.

  • Develops cost estimates for assigned projects with other functional leaders and technical support staff.

  • Verifies projects are compliant with international, national, and local codes (electrical, fire & safety). 

  • Propose new, improve, and maintain current BSAM Engineering Standards and deploy to the BATO plants.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years’ experience in related activity

  • Strong track record of technical leadership

  • Strong emphasis on Project Management of Large Capital Projects

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree (MBA or MS)

  • PMP Certification, Project Management Experience

  • Multi-lingual: English, Spanish, French and/or Portuguese

  • MS O365

  • SAP

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; 6 y+ years of relevant experience including 3-5 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience Or Master's degree; 4+ years of relevant experience including 2-4 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience
